When I painted this sailboat last year, it honestly just started as a random idea on a quiet afternoon. I didn’t plan anything serious. I just grabbed some paint, put on some music, and let myself mess around with colors until the whole scene started to feel calm and kind of daydreamy. The little sailboat ended up drifting across this mix of soft blues and warm sky tones, and even though it was simple, it felt like one of those pieces you make just because it feels good in the moment.
What I love most about it is how much it reminds me of being near the water. Those easy, quiet days when everything slows down. I wasn’t trying to make it perfect; I just wanted to capture that feeling of freedom, like when you’re sitting by the lake or watching boats move across the horizon. It became one of those paintings that kind of surprised me by how much it matched the way I think and feel, even when I’m just creating for fun.
